Juice Concentrate – Where’s The Antioxidant?

Do you know that on average, made from concentrate orange juices contain 45 percent disease-fighting antioxidants than not-from-concentrate drinks? This was the result of the study conducted by Texas A&M researchers. These findings surprised many scientists who expected the reverse.

Lead investigator Bhimanagouda S. Patil, PhD, said that they were thinking that the not-from-concentrate juices would have a greater antioxidant content because the are made fresh. They surmised that processing methods and total water content may have a greater impact. Also, brands with added Vitamin C and E had significantly less antioxidants than those without. Well, it’s time to look closely to those labels before you buy your juices.
