Selenium and Your Prostate

By hannah On February 15, 2007 No Comments

It was in 1996 that selenium was first noticed as a good supplement for prostate health. Researchers at the University of Arizona were giving skin cancer patients with selenium. Well, ii did not help with skin cancer. After six years the men who took selenium were found to be substantially less likely to develop prostate cancer.

Numerous other studies have agreed with the report of the researchers. Selenium is found in plants food, but since the amount varies with the mineral content of the soil, it’s hard to know if one is getting enough from food. So it would be better to supplement between 100-200 micrograms per day.
