1-3 Cups of Coffee Reduces Diabetes Risk

Do you feel guilty after sipping a cup of cappuccino at your favorite Starbucks corner? Well, a lot of us do, especially when you reach the age of 40, where symptoms, diseases – imagined or not, are starting to surface.

Drinking coffee has been associated with a lot of ailments and diseases. But what’s the truth behind? While the hot java has been associated with raising blood pressure (some reports say coffee does raise blood pressure) and stomach ailments, the advantages it gives far outweigh the disadvantages.

According to a recent research from Harvard University; having 1-3 cups of caffeinated coffee everyday reduces the risk of having diabetes to single digits. The more the coffee, the better, the report said.

The study said that male coffee drinkers who take in more than six cups a day are 54% less prone to be diabetic compared to those who don’t take the java. It also said that drinking the hot java lowered the chance of being diabetic in women by 30%.

While the coffee addicts are jumping with joy in this report, it should also be taken with caution for those suffering from heartburn, GERD and other stomach related ailments.
