Why The Grilled Chicken Breast May Not Be Good For You

Ok, the grilled chicken breast may be helping you to keep that slim waistline, but do you know that it also thins your bones?

Quite unfortunate and many were surprised to know this, even the researchers at Yale University who conducted the study.

The researchers conducted a research at countries with high calcium intake. The researchers were anticipating that the people in these places would have correspondingly lower occurrence of hip fractures and osteoporosis.

To their surprise, the opposite was true. They were baffled with the results. In their scrutiny, they learned that the benefit that the high calcium diet gave was severely counteracted by a diet rich in protein.

In the book “Eat Right, Live Right” Dr. Neil Barnard explains that “A protein molecule is like a string of beads, and each ‘bead’ is an amino acid. When protein is digested, these beads come apart and pass into the blood, making the blood slightly acidic.”

The reaction of the body would be to neutralize that acidity. To do that, it would pull calcium from the bones. The more grilled chicken you eat, the more slices of beef you consume, the more amino acids flow into your bloodstream and of course, more calcium is pulled out from your bones.

Well, the study just proved that a meat based diet is catastrophic for your bones.
